In Seattle, on the other hand, we are near the end of month 3 in our 5-month spring. The magnolia tree blossomed and dropped its petals last month, and my lawn is red and skwishy with fat camellia blossoms--the tree seems to drop several pounds worth every day. But the warm, sunny days are interrupted by cold, wet, gray ones--it's not summer yet, though GG has the hammock out in the front yard. This Saturday is Opening Day of boating season, and we'll be able to hear horns blasting as an endless parade of decorated boats and drunken sailors goes through the Montlake Cut.
